In 2004, John Scherer donated 2,000 Getting Started with your PC Video Professor tutorials to the Peace Corps. These tutorials are currently available to Peace Corps volunteers and field representatives stationed all around the world. Peace Corps volunteers used Video Professor tutorials to introduce technology to those who may never have had the opportunity to learn it while living in a rural environment.

Bill, a PCV (Peace Corps Volunteer) stationed in Buea, Cameroon, knew the value of an education in technology. Having received a donation from Video Professor Bill proceeded to use the tutorials in a Teacher''s Resource Centre in Buea. One student in particular of Bill''s, a Cameroonian named Simon, especially appreciated Video Professor. In a heartfelt letter to Video Professor, Inc., Bill thanked John W. Scherer and Video Professor for the donation, remarking that, "I was amazed to see a young Cameroonian new to computers just a short time ago coding web pages in his second lesson."
